Our Trench Rammer FAQ's

Learn more about Chippindale and the trench rammer hiring process. Our expert team are here to help and more than happy to discuss your projects and what you will need.

01 What does the trench rammer hire process involve?

If you’re interested in our trench rammer hire, you simply select “Enquire Now” next to the product you’re interested in, fill in a short form and a member of our team will get in touch. You can also call us directly if that works better for you. If there are a few different pieces of machinery you’re interested in hiring alongside your trench rammer hire, this can all be discussed with our expert team.

At this point, we can start to arrange the trench rammer hire if you’re confident that this is the right piece of machinery, or we can conduct a project audit and provide a recommendation for you based on this. If there is anything else you need to hire, from dumpers to site cabins, this can also be arranged over the phone. Or, if you prefer to do things face to face, you’re more than welcome to come down to one of our depots, enjoy a cuppa and a proper biscuit and create the ideal solution for your project with our team.

Once you’re happy with the project plan we have put forward, we can start the account set up process:

You will need to fill out a new account setup form (if you haven’t already), and we will also require your ‘hired-in plant insurance’. If you don’t have any, don't worry, we can provide HireSecure insurance for an extra 20% charge. This usually takes 1-2 days, but if you’re working to a deadline we will do our best to get it sorted.

When your account is set up, we will complete the final discussions about your rammer hire and assign an account manager. They will know every detail of your hire and throughout the duration of your trench rammer hire, if you ever have a question or query, they will be just a call away.

All of your hire equipment will then be delivered to site and set up by a trained engineer. There aren’t strict time constraints with our machinery, so simply once you have finished with the trench rammer, give us a call and we will come to pick it up.

If you would find it useful (many larger construction sites do), we can send ‘live-hire’ reports, as well as a range of easy reporting and invoicing features.

Once you’re finished with your equipment, we will always pause the charges and have a debrief to make sure you were completely satisfied with your trench rammer hire experience. We then bring the machinery back to the depot, conduct another full service and then look forward to hopefully working with you again in the future.

02 Can I hire a trench rammer alongside other machinery?

Absolutely. Alongside your trench rammer hire, you can work with our team to arrange a custom solution for your project, utilising a wide range of our plant machinery for hire. Across our fleets we have everything from towable hotboxes to air compressors, excavators, handheld breakers and cement mixers, so whether you need one or two pieces of machinery or twenty, we will help you find the ideal solution. We also have a wide variety of excavator attachments, tool hire and site cabin hire across our depots, so if you need a full site fit out, that’s no problem.

We supply construction companies in all sectors with trench rammer hire as well as a wide range of other plant hire, from commercial to residential and education, so we are confident that we will provide you with the most efficient and safe machinery possible that is very well suited to your needs.

03 How often are your trench rammers for hire serviced?

We service all of our machinery after every hire (twice the industry standard), including for our trench rammer hire. Our team is fully committed to providing you with the most efficient and safe machinery, so there are always thorough services carried out before and after a piece of machinery has been out for hire, with the completed checksheet provided with your hire paperwork. Whilst our trench rammers are with us in the depot, we also conduct regular servicing and checks to make sure everything is working effectively between hire periods.

Our investment into industry leading machinery helps to ensure safety, performance and reliability alongside our regular servicing, this is along with our exclusive software that quickly identifies error codes to resolve issues as they arise, to minimise downtime should any issues arise on your hire. Every effort is put in to make sure your trench rammer hire experience is without disruption or downtime and providing reliable machinery is a key focus of our business.

When we deliver our trench rammers for hire, we make sure everything is set up and running as it should be before we leave, as well as being available to come out to site if you have any questions or queries.

04 Why should I choose Chippindale for my trench rammer hire?
